IT HAS STARTED!
WELL THE DREAM OF THE MAN ROOM HAS JUMPED FROM MY MIND TO PAPER AND OFF TO THE PLANNING OFFICE HERE IN BROCKVILLE. YES, I'VE APPLIED FOR MY FIRST PERMIT AND TAKEN THE FIRST STEP TOWARDS MAKING THE ULTIMATE PLACE TO ESCAPE FROM THE TIDY AND CLEAN PARTS OF THE REST OF THE HOUSE AND ENJOY MOVIES, SPORTS AND GENERAL MANLY THINGS IN ANY WAY I LIKE.
SO I'LL FIND OUT IN 9 DAYS IF I CAN PROCEED WITH MY DREAM ROOM. STAY TUNED FOR UPDATES AND PICTURES.

I have no idea what is involved with finishing your basement. Do you need a permit for this sort of thing, or are you planning a uber-extension on the house to become your man room? Because that would be amazing.
Just the basement. yes, you'll need a permit if you change any pluming around, I'll be moving gas lines around. The main reason I'm going for the permit is when I sell the place in the future I can use the finished basement as a selling feature. It is to cover my ass in case the buyer's inspector says that the basement isn't done right I can show the permits and the inspections from the permit.
Awwww, basement, and I thought you were going to build a huge garage type structure out back.
I'm with Matt. It sounded cooler when the thought of a permit meant you were tearing up your backyard to make an indoor midget racetrack.
I'd know that you'd want the racetrack so you can beat all those midgets!
ESCAPE THE TIDY, CLEAN PARTS. YOU LIKE HAVING A TIDY AND CLEAN HOUSE. DON'T THINK WE WON'T BE DOWN THERE WITH YOU. I ALREADY KNOW OF THE PERFECT COLOR SCHEME AND PATTERNS THAT WOULD LOOK GREAT DOWN THERE. CAN'T WAIT!!!
